The Exoplanet Group at DTU Space at the Technical University of Denmark is seeking a highly talented and skilled researcher for a Tenure Track Assistant Professor position in exoplanet science, with an emphasis on exoplanetary atmospheres. You will join a dynamic and rapidly growing group focused on the detection, characterization, and atmospheric studies of exoplanets, with particular emphasis on terrestrial and sub-Neptune exoplanets.
Responsibilities and qualifications
Your overall focus will be to conduct independent research in exoplanet science while collaborating closely with other members of the Exoplanet Group at DTU Space. As a tenure-track Assistant Professor, you will be responsible for conducting cutting-edge research, supervising and mentoring students, and contributing to the teaching of courses at DTU. The successful candidate will play an integral role in fostering the collaborative environment within the group and advancing the field of exoplanetary science.
You should have strong expertise in one or more of the following areas:
Applicants with extensive experience in working with space telescope data for exoplanetary atmosphere studies are particularly encouraged to apply. Familiarity with tools, techniques, and software relevant to spectroscopic data analysis will be viewed favorably.
Proficiency in programming and data analysis is highly desirable, as modern exoplanet research increasingly relies on the development and application of advanced software tools. Applicants with this experience will have an advantage, particularly if these skills have been applied to the reduction, interpretation, or simulation of exoplanet data.
You must be responsible for the teaching of courses. DTU employs two working languages: Danish and English. You are expected to be fluent in at least one of these languages, and in time are expected to master both.
As a formal qualification you must hold a PhD degree (or equivalent).

Salary and terms of employment
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed upon with the relevant union.
Starting date will be according to mutual agreement. The position is a full-time position.
