The full-time starting salary is normally £34,226.00 per annum, with progression available in post to £37,203.00 per annum.

Birmingham City University is a large and diverse place to study right in the heart of the city. Student and Academic Services are currently recruiting to the role of Student Success & Retention Team Leader, to join our Faculty Student Centres. This role will suit an experienced team leader/manager or someone with supervisory experience and who has led and delivered key events and activities. 

You will lead and manage a team to deliver plans to a defined schedule of activity whilst managing multiple deadlines and flexibly deploying resources. Additionally, you must be able to work under pressure and be able to deliver an outstanding service when operationalising events and activities across the student lifecycle. 

Reporting to the Student Success and Retention Manager, the role will work with colleagues in the Faculty Student Centres, wider University services, academics, and students to provide a consistent and accurate service. As well as working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, the successful candidate will also support our Faculty Student Centres in offering a welcoming presence for students. Working collaboratively with other roles, they will support our Welcome Desk on a rotational basis, triaging student and staff queries to offer a "right first time" service. 

You will be educated to degree level or have equivale relevant experience, and have experience working in a teaching and learning environment, ideally in Higher Education. You will have experience providing high quality customer service in a complex environment, including the ability to analyse and interpret large data-sets, with proven high quality administrative experience.

The appointed candidate will normally be employed through our subsidiary company BCU Support Services Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Birmingham City University. Appointees with prior LGPS membership who wish to enter the LGPS scheme will be able to do so, and will be employed by Birmingham City University directly.
