School of Health in Social Sciences at the University of Edinburgh is inviting applications for a Research Fellow position to join our established Scottish Collaboration for Public Health Research and Policy (SCPHRP; www.ed.ac.uk/health/research/centres/scphrp). SCPHRP’s vision is to develop Scotland as a leader in public-health intervention research for equitable health improvement through catalysing strong researcher/research-user collaborations that ensure timely, robust, policy relevant research that is created with – and used by – key decision-makers.
This post is full-time (35 hours per week); however, we are open to considering part-time or flexible working patterns. We are also open to considering requests for hybrid working (on a non-contractual basis) that combines a mix of remote and regular on-campus working.
The Opportunity:
Digital health services are increasingly being proposed to address the health needs of those living in remote and rural areas of the UK. However, these areas often also have poorer quality internet connections, expanding existing health inequalities. We are recruiting a postdoctoral research fellow to join a recently funded project seeking to understand the work arounds people and charities in remote and rural areas have developed in order to engage with digital health services. Within the project the successful applicant will be employing both qualitative and systems methods.
Your skills and attributes for success:
Applicants are encouraged to contact Dr Andrew James Williams (andrew.j.williams@ed.ac.uk) for informal enquiries.
