The Royal College of Art is seeking an experienced Space & Moves Planner to join our Estate Development team within the RCA Estates Directorate. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the College’s space planning and move management services as part of a rolling programme of capital works projects across our three campuses. The role plays a crucial part in ensuring the RCA provides a safe, secure, and productive campus environment for students, staff, and visitors. This role is to start as soon as possible to cover the maternity leave of the current postholder for up to a year.
About the Role
The Space & Moves Planner serves as a technical expert in space management and move coordination, supporting the Director of Estates in delivering a range of projects from capital works (£1m-£5m) to minor works (£100k-£1m) and small works/moves (up to £100k). The role involves managing a portfolio of moves projects, overseeing external team members, and ensuring optimal space allocation to support world-class teaching, learning, and research.
Working closely with the Deputy Director - Estate Development and Head of Space & Moves Management, the Space & Moves Planner liaises with internal stakeholders, appointed contractors, and professional consultants to facilitate seamless project execution.
