The University for the Creative Arts is seeking to appoint experienced and well-qualified pre-sessional EAP tutors to teach on our online and face-to-face 10-week Art and Design or Business pre-sessional English courses. Tutors will provide 12 hours of taught classes per week, with additional hours (up to a maximum of 10 per week) set aside for student support in the form of individual tutorials, guided self-study, and mock assessments. In addition, tutors will attend weekly meetings, participate fully in moderation and standardisation, grade formative and summative assessments, and undertake other administrative duties as necessary.
As a successful applicant, you will possess outstanding teaching skills and show how you have developed these skills to deliver content effectively. You will ideally have experience working on UK pre-sessional courses and an interest in teaching English for Art and Design or the Creative Industries.
You must be able to manage your time effectively, taking into account planning and preparation, and be prepared to approach project briefs creatively, cooperatively and with flexibility. You will continually seek to provide high-quality online instruction of the language, knowledge, skills and educational values required for study at degree level. You will be adept at promoting learner autonomy and individual research through tutorials.

All tutors will require a good quality laptop computer.
Online tutors will also need a webcam and a fast, reliable internet connection (30mbps or above).

Contracts are offered on a fixed term basis for the dates given above.
On campus accommodation is offered as a benefit in kind for campus tutors who need it. Please note that this is a taxable benefit.
