This position offers hands-on experience in corporate governance while allowing you to develop broader administrative and management skills. You will work closely with senior University staff, gaining valuable exposure to decision-making at the highest levels—experience that will support your career progression in governance and senior University administration.

Through supporting a diverse range of subsidiary companies— including recruitment and advertising services, conference centres, international ventures, and the innovation and property-focused businesses of the Science Park—you will gain a fascinating insight into the University’s varied commercial and strategic activities.

This is an exciting and unique opportunity, and we encourage you to reach out to learn more ahead of applying.

Whilst this is advertised as a permanent position, a 12-month secondment would be considered.

About You

Are you a highly organised and detail-oriented professional with experience in governance and committee management? Do you thrive in a fast-paced role where your ability to build strong relationships and provide support and advice makes a real impact? Are you proactive, ambitious and keen to develop? If so, we’d love to hear from you.

You will be educated to degree level and ideally hold a professional qualification from the Chartered Governance Institute (CGIUKI) or have equivalent experience.

With excellent interpersonal skills, you will confidently engage with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, handling sensitive matters with discretion. You will be highly organised, able to manage multiple priorities under pressure using your own initiative, and maintain meticulous attention to detail.

Whether you already have experience in staff management or are eager to develop leadership skills, this role offers an exciting opportunity to grow in a supportive environment.

Support towards achieving a CGIUKI professional qualification will be available if required.
