Job Description

The Global Intellectual Property Institute's global recruitment aims to attract eminent researchers with backgrounds in intellectual property and the relevant disciplines. The current round plans to recruit a number of tenure-track associate professors and/or assistant professors. More senior positions are available for outstanding scholars and can be considered individually. The candidates should ideally have research expertise in the following areas:

  1. Intellectual property law, especially patent law;
  2. New or leading research areas of IP law concerning AI, big data, digital economy, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, international relations, and global governance;
  3. Intellectual property management;
  4. IP law-related areas of technology law or digital governance

Requirements

The applicant should

  1. abide by the laws and regulations of the People's Republic of China, and have a passion for teaching and research;
  2. abide by the code of conduct for teachers, uphold academic integrity, be willing to work diligently, and have no criminal record or record in breaching the code of conduct for teachers or academic integrity;
  3. have a PhD in the relevant discipline from a leading university, experience in studying and/or working at a leading institution, and knowledge of the latest international trends and development in the relevant research field(s);
  4. have outstanding teaching abilities—the applicant should be able to teach core and innovative courses in the corresponding discipline, and have sound teaching skills and strong communication abilities;
  5. demonstrate outstanding research track records and potentials—the applicant should have publications in his/her field of research, original ideas about relevant fields of research, a clear future research plan, and good potential for further academic development.

Remuneration

¥370,000 to ¥420,000 (approx. US$51,575 to US$58,545) per annum

  1. A competitive annual salary;
