Be a part of something amazing...
As the principal museum of the University of Cambridge and the largest cultural venue in the region, The Fitzwilliam Museum serves as a crucial bridge between the University, the city and the wider world. It has an international reputation for outstanding research, world-class exhibitions, award-winning public programmes and significant collections spanning many cultures and centuries. The Hamilton Kerr Institute (HKI), is a sub-department of the Museum and is one of the world's leading centres for teaching and research in paintings conservation and heritage science.
The Learning and Public Programmes department connects the Museum's collections and exhibitions with the widest possible audience, reflecting its vision to inform and be informed by the latest research. This work is created in collaboration with diverse stakeholders, partners, and audiences.
The Learning and Public Programmes Coordinator role provides a comprehensive grounding in museum practice, working collaboratively with colleagues across Learning and Public Programmes, Visitor Experience, Events, AV, Audiences and Brand, and Collections and Research. Both hands-on and highly administrative, this role supports internal and external logistics, manages administrative processes, and ensures the effective delivery of the Museum's Learning and Public Programmes.
To thrive in this role, you will need strong organisational and logistical skills, along with experience in project management. Responsible for overseeing the internal and external programme logistics and administration, and liaising with colleagues, artists, communities and wider project stakeholders, you will also ensure our ambitious and imaginative learning and public engagement programmes are effectively evaluated and shared with the public, colleagues across the wider University of Cambridge community, and a range of funders.
In return, we offer a supportive and encouraging environment, a generous holiday allowance, an attractive pension scheme and many employee benefits, including a shopping discounts scheme.
Once an offer of employment has been accepted, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a basic disclosure (criminal records check) check and a security check.
