We are seeking two proactive and externally-focused Employer Engagement & Placement Consultants:

  • Creative Industries (Design, Gaming, Fashion)
  • Business & Social Sciences

These critical roles will develop and manage strategic relationships with employers, bringing tangible placement and employment opportunities for our students, while contributing significantly to our ambitious employability and graduate outcomes objectives.

Position

Purpose of the Role:

The Employer Engagement & Placement Consultants will actively engage with employers, industry partners, and external organisations to source entry-level opportunities, placements, internships, and graduate-level roles specifically aligned to our academic areas. You will adopt a Key Account Management approach, strategically building relationships, creating employer hubs for co-working and student collaboration projects, organising recruitment events, and directly enhancing our students' career prospects and graduate outcomes.

Requirements

Experience Requirements

Essential:

  • Proven experience of employer engagement, recruitment, account management, or business development
  • Track record of successfully sourcing and managing placement or employment opportunities
  • Experience organising employer-focused events or recruitment activities

Desirable:

  • Specific experience working within the Creative Industries (Design, Gaming, Fashion) or Business & Social Sciences sectors
  • Experience in Higher Education employer engagement or student recruitment contexts
  • Familiarity with graduate labour market trends and opportunities

Key Activities & Responsibilities

Employer Relationship Management

  • Develop and maintain strong, strategic partnerships with employers, industry bodies, and alumni in your designated sectors (Creative Industries / Business & Social Sciences).
  • Actively source entry-level roles, internships, placements, projects, and graduate-level employment opportunities for LCCA students.
  • Manage employer relationships through a Key Account Management model, ensuring sustained engagement and ongoing opportunities.
  • Work on our careers platforms onboarding and supporting employers
  • Collaborate with academic faculties to identify priority industry accounts and develop mutually beneficial relationships.

Placement & Employment Opportunities

  • Proactively generate and coordinate employer-led opportunities, supporting employers to fill talent gaps through our diverse student population.
  • Collaborate closely with Careers & Employability Consultants to effectively promote job opportunities and placements to students.
  • Create innovative pathways linking academic programmes directly with employer recruitment strategies.

Employer Engagement Events & Activities

  • Organise and host employer events, including careers fairs, recruitment presentations, networking events, and industry expert panels.
  • Set up and manage employer hubs on campus to facilitate co-working, collaboration, and live student-industry projects.
  • Coordinate on-campus recruitment initiatives, enabling employers to directly engage with students through interviews, assessment centres, and mentoring schemes.

Strategic Development & Reporting

  • Contribute actively to departmental strategy, identifying local and national employment trends to inform service delivery.
  • Regularly monitor and report employer engagement activities, student uptake of placements, and employment outcomes.
  • Continuously seek and implement best practices for employer engagement and student employability.

Other information

Educational Requirements

Essential:

  • Graduate or equivalent professional experience
  • Relevant qualification or experience in Employer Engagement, Recruitment, HR, Business Development, or related areas

Desirable:

  • Postgraduate qualification in Business, Management, HR, Marketing, or related fields

Skills & Knowledge

Essential:

  • Strong relationship-building, negotiation, and influencing skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders
  • Proven ability to work strategically, identifying and nurturing key employer accounts
  • Excellent organisational skills, able to plan and execute high-quality employer events and projects
  • IT proficiency (MS Office, CRM systems, databases)

Desirable:

  • Understanding of employability challenges faced by diverse student populations
  • Knowledge of higher education frameworks and employability metrics

Salary: £37,000 to £42,000 depending on experience
Hours: Full Time
