Description of Post

The JANUS (HPC,AI & Emerging Technologies) research group at ATU are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Associate (PDRA) to join the PEACTIME project, a €10 million PEACEPLUS 4.1-funded initiative. This role will focus on data analysis and architecture research, investigating the e-health deployment aspects of the PEACTIME protocol. The PDRA will assess the effectiveness of an e-health delivery platform and wearable technology, analyse collected data for predictive modeling, and develop appropriate data management architectures and processes. They will also support other research sub-projects as required.

PEACTIME is a cross-border initiative addressing the negative impact of obesity-related chronic disease on individuals, healthcare systems, and society. The project aims to enhance equitable access to care for people living with obesity complicated by type 2 diabetes (OBDM), using a novel integrated clinical service that is delivered within primary care and community structures. The intervention will provide nutritional, psychological, physical activity, pharmacological, and health coaching therapies through a hybrid model leveraging digital health technologies and telemedicine.

The project will evaluate the impact of this intervention on patients, healthcare services, and society through qualitative research and health economics analysis, generating new evidence on obesity management, wearable technology use, predictive markers of treatment response, and digital health innovations.

Please note: The postholder will be based at the ATU Donegal, Letterkenny Campus.
