ABOUT US

The University of Wales Trinity Saint David (UWTSD) traces its heritage back to the first university in Wales, receiving its Royal Charter in 1828 and is honoured to have His Majesty King Charles III as Royal Patron.

We are now looking for a Principal Academic Quality Officer to join our team on a Full Time, Permanent basis, working 37 hours per week.

THE ROLE

The Principal Academic Quality Officer (PAQO) has a primary focus upon validation and revalidation of programmes, and has a particular focus on maintaining accurate programme records, including for the planned curriculum management system, to ensure compliance with CMA and QAA requirements. You will work with the Institutes/Collaborative Partnerships Office to ensure that mechanisms to consider CMA implications are implemented when programmes are modified or placed on teach-out. You will provide advice and guidance for staff within academic and professional units on issues relating to these procedures. You will be required to produce reports for senior officers and committees.

ABOUT YOU

To be considered as Principal Academic Quality Officer, you will need:

  • Educated to degree level
  • Excellent IT skills including detailed knowledge of Excel and experience of using databases
  • Previous experience in providing high quality administrative support
  • Experience of committee administration and writing minutes
  • Excellent written skills
  • Ability to apply and follow procedures appropriately
  • Ability to apply attention to detail and ensure accuracy
  • Possess good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels
  • Ability to demonstrate effective organisational and planning skills to meet deadlines
  • Experience of analysing data/information and preparing reports based on the analysis
  • Demonstrates self-motivation and ability to work unsupervised
  • Able to work as part of a team and in partnership with others
