Faculty / Directorate

The Marketing and Communications Directorate offers full-service marketing and communications support to the university, comprising brand and creative development; design and print services; corporate and student recruitment marketing campaigns; CRM and conversion campaigns; faculty business partnering; reputation management; media relations; public affairs; internal and external communications engagement; events; schools and colleges engagement; Widening Participation; admissions; enquiry management and follow up; web and digital development.

Role

Are you passionate about social media and creating engaging content that connects with diverse audiences? De Montfort University (DMU) is looking for a Content Officer (Social) to play a key role in driving our brand awareness and student recruitment efforts through innovative digital content.

With a social-first focus, you’ll be responsible for developing, producing, and scheduling creative content across platforms like TikTok, Instagram, Meta, LinkedIn, YouTube, and podcasts. You’ll track performance, analyse trends, and work closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure content aligns with the university’s strategic goals. If you thrive on creativity, data-driven insights, and audience engagement, this role is for you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, create, and schedule engaging multimedia content tailored for various social platforms.
  • Track social media trends, platform updates, and audience behaviours to enhance DMU’s digital presence.
  • Analyse performance metrics, optimising content strategies for maximum reach and engagement.
  • Manage and support the university’s student content ambassadors to produce authentic, high-impact content.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams and external agencies to align content with university marketing and recruitment objectives.
  • Stay ahead of emerging content trends, AI tools, and production techniques to enhance creative output.

Ideal Candidate

You have hands-on experience in social media content creation, campaign management, and audience engagement. You’re a creative thinker with a keen eye for trends, analytics, and storytelling, capable of managing projects while delivering high-quality content. A strong understanding of paid, earned, and owned media and experience with social media advertising tools would be an advantage.
