Faculty / Directorate

In addition to Procurement, the Directorate provides a wide range of services including Financial Planning and Reporting, Finance Business Partnering, Financial Accounting, Taxation, Income and Purchase to Pay.

Role
De Montfort University (DMU) is seeking an Assistant Category Manager to support the delivery of high-quality procurement services, ensuring value for money, risk mitigation, and efficiency across the university. Working closely with Category Managers, you will manage procurement exercises, provide expert advice, and develop category strategies that align with university policies and legal requirements. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to procurement excellence within a dynamic and forward-thinking institution.
Key Responsibilities
Ideal Candidate
You will have experience in procurement, contract management, or supply chain operations, with a strong understanding of competitive tendering and supplier negotiations. You possess excellent analytical skills and can confidently provide advice on procurement strategy, risk management, and cost efficiencies. Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams are essential.
