Are you an experienced and influential academic with the proven ability to carry out research in cardiovascular disease and imaging? Do you have an excellent research track record, proven success obtaining funding and the vision and drive to tackle new challenges? Are you passionate about delivering world leading research and an exceptional student experience?
We seek to appoint an aspiring clinical academic with a subspecialty interest in cardiovascular imaging. The post is based in the Biomedical Imaging Science Department in the Leeds Institute of Cardiovascular and Metabolic Medicine. The institute is supported by an NIHR BRC and BHF Accelerator award and has a large clinical imaging centre with 3 dedicated research MRI scanners (Philips and Siemens) as well as a small animal imaging centre with a 7T Bruker MRI scanner. The post holder will deliver internationally leading research in cardiovascular disease and imaging, supervise PhD students and contribute to the cardiology service at Leeds Teaching Hospitals.
As Clinical Associate Professor, you will carry out research, teaching and management within the school, faculty and university and contribute to academic leadership in the field of cardiovascular disease with specific emphasis on cardiovascular imaging, in particular CMR. The post will split their work 30:70 between clinical service delivery as a consultant cardiologist at Leeds NHS Teaching Hospitals Trust and academic pursuits within the Faculty of Medicine and Health in the University of Leeds. Clinical service/job planning will be undertaken with the successful candidate (see Appendix A).
