R&IS is seeking a Research Development Officer, to provide pro-active support across research grants and contracts to world-class researchers within the Faculty of Science, Engineering & Medicine.
The role will provide expert support to research-active staff to develop competitive grant applications, deliver a proactive programme of research development support and to research contracts. This shall include for example delivery of funding workshops, one-to-one support to academics on the development of multi-disciplinary research proposals, identifying funding opportunities with advice and guidance to academics on potential routes for their research, negotiation of contractual terms and conditions, cost and price calculations, advice and guidance in regard to Intellectual Property, ethics and governance, and the internal approval of applications and awards.
