Background
The new Department of Media, Culture and Creative Industries draws together academic staff specialising in Advertising, Creative Writing, Cultural and Creative Industries, English, Media and Communications, Marketing Communication, Media Management, Media Production, Publishing, PR and Strategic Communication. Responsibilities
Candidates should be able to teach and design modules in Advertising in a way that is industry-focused and socially relevant. Specifically, the successful candidate will be able to teach most or all of the following modules from our BA Communication, PR and Advertising and our MA Marketing Communications degrees:
Advertising and Consumer Culture (UG, Y2)
Promotional Campaigns (UG, Y2)
Creative Advertising (UG, Y3)
Applied Advertising and Storytelling (PG)
Pitching Campaigns (PG)
Person Specification
The successful applicant will have a good first degree (ideally in Advertising, Communication, Media, Marketing or a related field) and industry-derived expertise related to Advertising.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed teacher able to engage and enthuse a diverse student body that includes international students. We are also looking for a new colleague who is a team player and willing to collaborate to strengthen the undergraduate and postgraduate Media and Communication courses and contribute to other programmes in the department, including CPD, short courses and so on.
