Working with us as a Teaching Fellow in Civil Engineering

We are seeking an exceptional Teaching Fellow in Civil Engineering with a relevant subject specialism and a strong record of success teaching a diverse range of modules. We are particularly interested to hear from candidates with knowledge and experience teaching at undergraduate level in:

  • Construction and structures, structural analysis or structural design
  • Soil mechanics, engineering geology and civil engineering materials, and geotechnics
  • Foundation design and engineering
  • Highway design and analysis
  • Engineering mathematics

The successful candidate will:

  • hold a PhD qualification in a relevant subject area
  • maintain registration with an engineering professional body
  • demonstrate strong leadership skills and a commitment to a practical, laboratory, practice-based and industry-informed teaching
  • lead and contribute to the wider School activities for its continued growth
  • plan, design, develop and deliver a range of high-quality programmes of study at all levels, ensuring that programme design and delivery comply with the academic quality
