Postdoctoral Research Fellow

Full time: 35 hours per week

Fixed term: for 9 months

The opportunity:

We are looking for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow with expertise in assessing the immune system during organ regeneration in vivo to join our team. The research fellow will dissect the mechanisms of CD4 T-cells in affecting liver epithelium regeneration. This research will primarily employ animal models of liver disease and in vitro cultures. 

The post holder should have expertise in epithelial and immune cell isolation and culture, flow cytometry, basic tissue culture and molecular biology techniques. Prior experience with organoid culture, complex microscopy, spectral flow cytometry would be advantageous. Applicants should be able to demonstrate prior research success; for example, through publications/pre-prints, presentations at conferences and relevant academic prizes/travel awards. We provide an inspirational environment for you to pursue your personal research aims.

Your skills and attributes for success:

• A PhD (or will shortly attain) in, molecular or cell biology, regenerative medicine, immunology, or a related discipline.
• Home Office Personal License (PIL)
• Practical experience with bright-field and confocal microscopy, immunofluorescence labelling and molecular imaging.
• Tissue sectioning and histological / immunohistochemical techniques.
• Extensive experience of operating spectral flow cytometry (e,g: Cytek Aurora system)
