Overview of the Role

Are you an enthusiastic and motivated clinician with a desire to be part of a successful research team? Are you ambitious with an interest in clinical research? Do you want to further your career in one of the UK’s leading research intensive universities? 

The successful candidate will join the Scleroderma (also known as Systemic sclerosis; SSc) research team, under the leadership of Professor Francesco Del Galdo. With a focus on scleroderma research, you will lead on clinical studies as well as taking the role of sub investigator in clinical trials.

Research projects will aim to better understand disease progression in patients at risk of scleroderma or patients who have received a diagnoses. There may be a focus on imaging based projects (both magnetic resonance imaging and ultrasound) to identify clinical markers of organ-specific disease progression, with a translational element in addition to clinical.

You will be medically qualified and have completed core medical training or equivalent, with clinical experience in rheumatology. You will have current GMC registration with MRCP (or equivalent).

There will be a requirement to complete Good Clinical Practice (GCP) training and other clinical research training as soon as practical after appointment.
