Cranmer Hall, St John’s College, Durham seeks to appoint an outstanding individual as Foundations Programme Director. This is an exciting new role which involves working within the team at Cranmer Hall, including the Bede Centre for Church Planting Theology, to develop and establish a new programme of teaching for lay leaders.

Job Vision and Purpose:
Cranmer Hall is starting a new initiative, Foundations, a 1-year course which aims to give an introduction to theology for lay people leading new worshipping communities (NWCs) in the Northeast of England. Foundations aims to raise the confidence of lay leaders and to equip them to reflect theologically on their ministry.
The Foundations Programme Director will work with the team at Cranmer Hall, including the Bede Centre for Church Planting Theology to develop and establish a new programme of teaching. The post holder will be the primary point of contact for the Foundations course, recruiting students and working with local partners (e.g. the Diocese of Durham, local church leaders) to help establish the new programme and recruit students. The post holder will facilitate the evening teaching sessions and work with the programme team to organise the smooth running of the course and the residential weekends. The post holder will work with the Media and Communications Officer to develop a hybrid course and help to train local facilitators to the deliver future sessions. The Programme Director will also support the running of the Bede Centre for Church Planting Theology, including teaching classes as part of the undergraduate programme at Cranmer Hall.
