We are seeking enthusiastic and highly motivated Postdoctoral Researchers to join our dynamic research team in the emerging and interdisciplinary field of plasma chemistry and plasma catalysis. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research in the development of plasma electrification technology for the sustainable production of fuels and chemicals, including CO2 conversion, CH4 pyrolysis, ammonia synthesis, and plastic conversion. You will be involved in developing and optimising plasma chemical processes for sustainable fuel production, synthesising and characterising advanced catalytic materials, and analysing the products of plasma-driven reactions. Additionally, you will conduct mechanism analysis, contribute to the publication of research findings, and collaborate closely with both internal team members and external partners to achieve project deliverables. You will also contribute to knowledge exchange and dissemination activities, including presentations and outreach.

There are 3 posts available, x2 fixed term posts, available until 30th September 2025 and x1 fixed term post, available until 30th November 2025. These posts are full-time, but we recognise that many individuals value flexibility in their work/life balance and we will consider applications to work on a part-time, flexible and job share basis wherever possible (a minimum of 0.5 FTE). You should have a PhD awarded (or near completion) in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or closely related subject.

Due to the nature of this opportunity, the position is only open to those who can start by 16th April 2025.

You must be able to prove your eligibility to work in the UK for the duration of the tenure.

If you are still awaiting your PhD to be awarded you will be appointed at Grade 6, spine point 30. Upon written confirmation that you have been awarded your PhD, your salary will be increased to Grade 7, spine point 31.
