About the Department:
The I&T Directorate is responsible for managing all IT infrastructure, service delivery, and IT operations at SOAS.
The Service Desk, part of the Information & Technology Directorate, serves as the first point of contact for all IT queries and requests.
Hardware Delivery Assistant position sits in the Information & Technology Directorate within SOAS. The role supports a range of technologies that enable and enhance the effectiveness of the whole institution.
About the Role
You will provide support and assurance to others (e.g., staff, students, colleagues etc) relating to the use of technical equipment located in teaching and learning spaces within the school.
As part of your role you performs physical install, move, add and change (IMAC) work and will be responsible for ensuring the timely delivery and collection of computer and multimedia hardware. You will work within an established policy/procedural framework but will recognise when changes/modifications are required and will implement these through close liaison with their line manager.
You will ensure that new IT equipment and problems with existing room equipment are logged and recorded in the call management system to allow for trend analysis and the implementation of preventative measures.
