About us

The School of Education originated from the Research Division of Higher Education established in 1982, then transferred to the Institute of Higher Education Research in 1987. The Department of Educational Economics and Administration was founded in 2002, and the Institute of Education was established in 2009 by means of merging. Due to the fast-growing need for training school teachers, Tao Xingzhi School of Teacher Education was founded in 2019, opening two majors in subject teaching -- English and physics. Nowadays, the School of Education consists of the Institute of Education and Tao Xingzhi School of Teacher Education. The School of Education is authorized to confer the Ph.D degrees and Master's degrees in education and administration. The School also provides Ed.D (Doctor of Education) and Ed.M (Master of Education) programs. The School of Education contains the Institute of Higher Education, the Institute of Educational Economics and Administration, the Institute of Teaching and Curriculum, the Research Center of Jiangsu Education Examination, the Research Center of Jiangsu Prestigious Teachers Development, Yangzte River Education Think Tank, the Higher Education Research and Evaluation Center.

Job description

School of Education invites outstanding talents from all over the world who are interested in the field of education. Research interests can be any of the following: 

  1. Subject teaching (English or physics); 
  2. Higher education; 
  3. Educational economics and administration; 
  4. Teaching and curriculum.

Requirements

The applicant should

  1. Abide by the laws and regulations of the People's Republic of China, and have a passion for teaching and research;
  2. Abide by the ethics of teachers, uphold academic integrity, be willing to work diligently, and have no criminal record or record in breaching the ethics of teachers and/or academic integrity; 
  3. Have a first-rate background in academic training—specifically, a PhD in relevant disciplines, experience in studying and/or working at first-rate teaching and research institutions, and knowledge of the latest international trends and development in the relevant research field(s); In principle, the applicant for Assistant Professor should have engaged in academic research for more than two years after receiving the doctoral degree. The applicant for Associate Professor should have engaged in academic research for more than four years after receiving the doctoral degree.
  4. Have outstanding teaching abilities—the applicant should be able to teach core and frontline courses in the corresponding discipline, and have sound teaching methodology and strong verbal skills;
  5. Demonstrate outstanding research output and potential—the applicant should have publications in his/her field of research, original ideas about relevant fields of research, a clear vision about future research plans, and good potential for further academic development. 

Remuneration

Basic salary:

  1. An annual salary (to be worked out individually)
  2. A start-up fund for research
  3. Qualification to supervise graduate students
  4. The university provides short-term lodging and housing subsidies. Applicants recruited can purchase commercial housing offered by the university at a special discount
  5. The university provides assistance with children’s schooling at primary and secondary school levels.

  3. Three representative papers (The representative works submitted for review are generally papers or monographs that have been officially published in journals or have been published online and have DOI numbers);
