And now we have an exciting opportunity to join us as a Receptionist with our Student Relations (Gateway) Team. These are fixed-term contract roles until 21 September 2025 and until 30 November 2025. 

ABOUT US AND THE TEAM
The University of Sunderland in London, based at Canary Wharf, boasts a vibrant and diverse community of staff and students.

We are currently piloting a four-day working week which allows our colleagues to work 32 hours over 4 days week with no reduction in pay. The pilot is part of our ongoing efforts to create a positive and inclusive workplace that promotes work-life balance and allows our colleagues to thrive professionally and personally whilst maintaining our commitment to delivering high-quality service to all our students.

In addition, in early 2025 we will be moving to a new, modern campus building adjacent to our current location offering a bright and spacious learning and working environment.

The role of Receptionist sits within our dedicated student enquiry service called Gateway. It’s a busy team that is at the forefront of supporting our vibrant and diverse student population.

ABOUT THE ROLE
As a receptionist, you will have a pivotal role in providing a warm welcome to students, guests and visitors, building relationships with the whole University to provide an exceptional level of service. You will deliver information, advice, and guidance to all customers on a wide variety of matters.

To be successful in this role, you will have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with a wide range of people. You will have solid understanding of customer service and a desire to work in a busy customer facing environment. We are looking for someone with great organisational and team working skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
