The University of St Andrews is on an ambitious trajectory for its research. Central to this, is the research services support our academics receive to undertake excellent research, impact and innovation. To advance the design and delivery of a world-leading research service, we have an exciting new role for an Assistant Director (Research Policy and Governance).
This is a leadership position that combines leading existing key research operations, including the Research Integrity, Ethics and Governance Team, and the Research Information & Policy Team, with shaping future-facing research service through a dedicated Research Services Programme and supporting the delivery of our Research and Innovation Strategy.
The ideal candidate will have considerable experience of delivering research services in the HE sector at a management level. They will have demonstrable leadership, influencing and engagement skills which will support effective collaboration across the University. This will be combined with significant expertise in research policy, governance and performance. Coupled with a thorough understanding of the impact external drivers, such as funder regulations or Government policy, have on research and the services required to respond to these drivers.
