Position

To provide leadership, advice and expertise to assure and enhance quality and standards across the College in line with the OfS conditions, other external quality requirements and other regulatory frameworks within Global University Systems (GUS) College’s taught provision. To lead and be responsible for quality assurance and standards and ensure a responsive and high quality service to both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring our students receive a high quality student experience at all times. The Quality lead will oversee the Quality Team and be a key member within the College’s senior management team. The role will report directly to the Managing Director and have a dotted line into the Chief Academic Officer – UK Colleges Division (GUS).

Requirements

Quality Leadership and Management:
  • Develop and implement a strategic vision, systems and plan for academic quality and standards across the College and ensure compliance with the relevant regulatory bodies.
  • Provideleadershipanddirectiontotheacademicqualityteam,fosteringacultureof continuous improvement and academic excellence
  • Manage and keep current a framework of policies and procedures for academic quality
  • Ensure the quality of our programmes meet or exceed sector standards
  • Lead on reporting and engagement with external awarding and regulatory bodies for the College
  • Oversee programme monitoring and appropriate plans and any awarding partner feedback.
  • Oversee the delivery of high-quality support for academic governance, including effective committee servicing.
  • Take responsibility for ensuring that academic governance bodies are effectively supported, with accurate records
  • Work closely with the Academic Registrar on matters of regulatory compliance, ensuring clarity of leadership.

Quality and Standards Development and Implementation:
  • Develop, review, and enhance quality assurance policies and procedures to ensure alignment with registration conditions, government regulations, sector standards and our university partners
  • Ensure effective communication and dissemination of quality assurance policies and guidelines to academic departments and stakeholders.

Accreditation, Validation and Compliance:
  • Oversee quality aspects of new partnerships, validations and accreditation of academic programmes
  • Ensure compliance with OfS quality standards and awarding or professional body requirements.
  • Coordinateaccreditationvisits,prepareauditreports,andliaisewithaccreditingagencies / awarding bodies to maintain accreditation status.

Data Analysis and Reporting:
  • Collect, analyse, and interpret data related to academic quality indicators, including student success rates, retention rates, and graduation rates.
  • Prepare regular reports and presentations on academic quality metrics and trends for internal and external stakeholders.
