Job Description

We are currently seeking a part-time Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Sport and Exercise Nutrition, to design and deliver teaching content in the classroom and laboratory, across a range of modules in various Nutrition Programmes within the Biological Sciences Subject area. The role has a particular emphasis on applied sport nutrition, anatomy, physiology and metabolism for physical health, as well as relevant student project supervision. (This is a part-time, 0.5 role)

About the role

Within the role you will assist with curriculum development, pedagogical innovation, and research to enhance student experience. You will engage with academic communities, industry partners, and professional bodies while seeking external funding opportunities. There will be associated module administration such as assessment, marking and feedback. The role also involves acting as an Academic Advisor to undergraduate students and supervising final year Dissertation projects. There will also be involvement in the promotion and marketing of the courses through recruitment events and outreach.

About you

You will have recent, successful experience of university teaching in core areas of Sport Nutrition and understand the importance of providing students with an excellent learning experience throughout their studies. We would be particularly interested in candidates with experience of the Association for Nutrition framework, and associated accreditation. You will be an inspiring educator with excellent problem-solving, communication, and networking skills. In addition, you will be a proactive, flexible team player, keen to contribute to teaching, research, and curriculum development.
