The School of Communication and Creativity brings together our renowned Department of Journalism with two new Departments of Media, Culture and Creative Industries, and Performing Arts. The School supports and develops the next generation of practitioners to work across the cultural, creative and media sectors. Responsibilities

We are seeking a Lecturer in Data Journalism to join our teaching team and contribute to the development and delivery of our excellent undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.

We are looking for candidates with significant experience as journalists preferably in a data role at major publications, and a proven track-record – or demonstrated potential – to provide exceptional teaching and support to students.

If appointed on an education and research profile, you will carry out international research that is high-impact, and outward-looking towards industry and society.

Person Specification

The successful candidate will be an experienced, skilled journalist and/or researcher, preferably with experience in a data role at major publications. They will also have a genuine commitment to teaching excellence – providing creative, engaging lessons for students; as well as paying attention to detail, and being organised, fair and transparent in their approach to assessment.
