About the Department:
The post holder will work closely across the Study Abroad team to support with administration and student engagement, as well as leading on the Turing Scheme. Strong customer service and administration skills, and an eagerness to work collaboratively with colleagues are essential for this role. The ideal candidate will be pro-active and have strong time-management skills.
Duties include:
Acting as the first point of contact with prospective students, current students & alumni of the Study Abroad and Exchange programme by managing all enquiries in the SOAS Abroad inbox.
Oversee the administration of all student data related to outbound study abroad students, including confirming progression to go abroad, maintaining records whilst abroad, & following up on transcripts on a student’s return to SOAS.
Providing administrative support to the Inbound Study Abroad Officer in peak periods.
Supporting with Study Abroad & MSRA events, including Arrivals Week and Pre-departure events.
Managing the Buddy Scheme, administering and organising social activities connecting inbound and outbound students together.
Providing administrative support for the Turing scheme including processing of payments and invoices and disbursement of funding to students, ensuring the university meets all requirements and deadlines in relation to the Turing Scheme.
About the Role
The Study Abroad team sits within the Student Recruitment team which is part of the Directorate of Marketing, Student Recruitment and Admissions. The Study Abroad team are responsible for providing support and guidance to students and staff regarding semester and year-long study abroad activities. This is a growing area within the university with ambitious targets to grow partnerships, increase numbers and improve the overall study abroad experience.
