We are seeking to appoint a Head of the Department to the Law School at the University of Wolverhampton. The department is home to a dedicated team of academics committed to teaching, research and knowledge exchange that lead a range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses, many of which have professional accreditations.

You will demonstrate a commitment to high quality teaching and learning and experience of transnational education would be expected. You should be willing to share the University’s core values of creating a learning environment that is inclusive, challenging and promotes collaboration, professionalism, and confidence.

You will demonstrate highly effective leadership skills and will have extensive knowledge and understanding of Legal education provision within a higher education Law school context. You will have experience of providing effective leadership in a higher education setting, research, and publications and of working in collaboration with employers, funding agencies, research partners and wider stakeholders.

Reporting to the Associate Director of the Business School, the role will be based in Wolverhampton, but you may be expected to work with our regional learning centres, as well as nationally and internationally.

You will have a good first degree or equivalent, a Master’s degree in a relevant subject and experience of teaching and course management in the higher education sector. The ability to demonstrate a detailed understanding of the Teaching Excellence Framework, the Research Excellence Framework, the Knowledge Exchange Framework, and a commitment to innovative and inclusive education will be essential. The Faculty has well established links with professional bodies, therefore membership and experience of working with relevant professional bodies would be an advantage.
