It's a great time to join the Sheffield Institute of Social Sciences at Sheffield Hallam University. Forensic Psychology is a growing research area committed to academic excellence and undertaking research to transform lives through making people safer and more secure.
As a researcher, you will contribute to a range of Forensic Psychology research projects and will work with the Forensic Psychology research team supporting the production of REF outputs.
As well as sound knowledge of theoretical and practical issues in Forensic Psychology, you must be research active with both a good relevant honours degree and a PhD (or be close to completion). You must also have knowledge and experience of SPSS/Jamovi and/or qualitative methods, as well as experience of working with sensitive materials.
This is an excellent CV-building opportunity for you to further develop your research skills and gain invaluable, practical research experience working on a range of Forensic Psychology projects with staff in a dynamic research environment.
If you are offered this post, you will be subject to an enhanced check by the Disclosure and Barring Service. A criminal record will not necessarily prevent you from working at Sheffield Hallam University but its relevance to the duties of the post will need to be assessed before the appointment is confirmed.
We offer a diverse range of benefits and opportunities to pursue a rewarding and fulfilling career in a supportive environment.
You will be contractually enrolled into the Teachers’ Pension Scheme (TPS) – one of the largest and most generous defined benefit pension schemes in the country
If you are, or have been, a recent member of the Universities Superannuation Scheme (USS) directly prior to joining us, you can choose to opt out of the TPS and remain in the USS. Please contact the Pensions team to discuss options available.
For this job, we particularly welcome applications from minority ethnic applicants who are underrepresented in this area/ this type of job at Sheffield Hallam.
The University may be able to sponsor the employment of international applicants in this role; this will depend on a number of factors specific to the individual applicant.
We welcome applications for job-share, part-time and flexible working arrangements.
