Applications are invited to apply for the Engagement Officer post based in the Department of Physics, University of Oxford.
The post-holder will coordinate the delivery of the Beecroft Inspire Programme, a targeted outreach provision for local students which aims to show young people (11-15 years) that physics goes beyond the classroom and can lead to many exciting career opportunities. The programme will present Oxford’s most recent and exciting research in an accessible way, including the basic physics principles underlying the work, exciting discoveries, and related technology.
The post holder will coordinate and deliver three initiatives within the programme that aim to reach diverse audiences across Oxfordshire and beyond. These include a physics roadshow in local schools, targeted one-day events for girls, and events that showcase the impact of our physics research.
Applicants should possess an honours degree or equivalent in physics or a related STEM subject, and have a strong background in schools’ outreach or public engagement. Excellent communication and project management skills are essential for this role.

The post is available part-time for 12 months (2.5 days a week, though we are open to flexible working patterns). The closing date for applications is noon on Monday, 17 March 2025.
