Saïd Business School, part of the University of Oxford, is seeking a Head of HR to join our HR leadership team, to lead on HR Operations and enhance the employee experience.

The Role

Joining our Human Resources and Organisational Development (HROD) management team, you will collaborate with the Head of Organisational Development (OD), Head of Recruitment and Head of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion to shape and execute a forward-thinking HR strategy.

The HROD team at Oxford Saïd is dedicated to providing professional HR services throughout the employee lifecycle for approximately 500 administration staff and 90 academic faculty members, along with a flexible workforce including agency staff. In addition, our private limited company, Oxford Saïd Business School Limited (OSBSL) directly employs around 150 staff, adding complexity and opportunity to this role.

Reporting to the Director of People and Organisational Development, as the Head of HR, you will be accountable for the effective management of the HR function. In this senior leadership role, you will be a pivotal member of the School’s HROD team, overseeing a talented group of HR Business Partners and the HR Operations team. You will engage closely with senior leaders across the School, providing strategic insights and expertise throughout the employee lifecycle for faculty and professional services staff within our private limited company, OSBSL.

In this role, you will inspire and guide a professional HR team to implement strategic initiatives that align with the organisation’s goals and vision for the future. You will also lead the work to enhance the Employee Value Proposition (EVP) by continuously innovating employee experiences and promoting attractive benefits that make Oxford Saïd a desirable workplace. Additionally, you will refine the Employee Health and Wellbeing Strategy, implementing initiatives that prioritise staff wellbeing.

Fostering positive employee relations will be crucial, while promoting a constructive work culture and clarifying roles and responsibilities. You will collaborate with the Head of OD, aligning best practices in people management with managerial roles. Furthermore, you will work closely with stakeholders to improve customer service and communications, refining service offerings and enhancing HR intranet resources.

At Saïd Business School, you will have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of staff and contribute to the success of one of the world's leading business schools. We look forward to hearing from you.
