We are seeking an applicant for a fully-funded ERC Research Assistant position with funding to undertake PhD in non linear PDE's led by Professor Pierre Raphael in the Department of Pure Mathematics and Mathematical Statistics.
Description of Research Area Here: The position is advertised in connection with the ERC/UKRI advanced grant SWAT. Work will be focused onto the turbulent part of the program and the construction of new solutions to the non linear harmonic oscillator.
Duties include undertaking your own program of research and assisting with ongoing research programmes associated to the ERC/UKRI program SWAT; writing up results for publication; and presenting your work to colleagues at conferences or seminars, both internally and externally. You may also be asked to assist in organizing various seminars and study groups. During the period of funding for this role, you will be eligible to complete your PhD studies.
The successful candidate will have a Master's degree in mathematics by the start date of the position, and should have relevant background knowledge in arithmetic geometry.
