We have a postdoctoral researcher opportunity available in the laboratory of Dr. Tom Deegan at the MRC Human Genetics Unit in Edinburgh.
The Opportunity:
We seek an outstanding candidate to join the group of Dr. Tom Deegan, within a programme aimed at understanding the molecular mechanisms and regulation of eukaryotic DNA replication. We are particularly focussed on the role of accessory DNA helicases during replication termination and other stages of DNA replication. The successful candidate will employ a multi-disciplinary approach including biochemically reconstituted DNA replication systems using both yeast and human proteins. For examples of our recent studies in this area see Deegan et al, Mol. Cell., 2019, Deegan et al, eLife, 2020, Jenkyn-Bedford et al, Nature, 2021, Olson et al., EMBO J. 2024. Our group is part of the MRC Human Genetics Unit, a world class centre, which provides a highly collaborative and multi-disciplinary environment within which to study eukaryotic chromosome biology.
