Salary: Full time starting salary is normally in the range £35,880 to £45,163 with potential progression once in post to £47,874

Role Summary
The post holder for this role will support the vision and delivery of both the internal and external communications strategy for Finance, with a broad engagement across the whole of the Finance team, the Finance Leadership Group and the Finance Strategic Theme group for Communications.
The role will provide professional, expert communications advice and support across the Finance function and be expected to deliver innovative ideas to create and/or enhance Finance communications. The role will lead the development of policies, processes and templates to build and continuously improve the experience of internal and external stakeholder groups and embed this through effective communication and engagement.
Main Duties
- Lead the creation, delivery, and continuous improvement of an internal and external communications and engagement strategy. This will include the identification of key stakeholders (both internal and external), active participation on the University Internal Communications Operations group, clarification and establishment of appropriate communication channels, developing key narrative and messaging and coordinating across Finance and the wider University.
- Design and deliver an appropriate set of communication performance indicators, in order to measure effectiveness and engagement and propose changes as needed.
- Provide day to day communication support and guidance to the wider team, the Finance Leadership Group and all Strategic Theme group in Finance. (This may include support at team meetings, support with day to day comms, the design of standard templates, guidance on format, style and media, ensuring consistency).
- Take editorial responsibility for all information on the Finance intranet site, and any other relevant channels, developing innovative, high quality and creative content in a Digitally Accessible format and consistent with our brand guidelines.
Person Specification
- Educated to Degree level (or equivalent qualifications) plus relevant practical experience - where no equivalent qualification is held significant practical relevant experience and expertise in a series of progressively more demanding roles will be required.
- Relevant Communications or Public Relations certification e.g. Foundation degree, CIPR, IOIC, or equivalent.
- Excellent communication skills and copywriting ability, and creative presentation style.
- Substantial practical experience of communication and engagement methodologies and techniques and how these operate in a complex organisation.
- Experience of leading events and away-days with proficient project management and organisation skills
- Excellent IT skills, confident in using, innovating with, and influencing use of digital communication and engagement, including content management and development tools, such as Adobe Creative Cloud and the Microsoft 365 suite.
- Well-developed organisational skills, excellent attention to detail and time-management skills.
