Applications are welcome from legal scholars with research interests in the area of International and European human rights law. The postholder will be required to deliver core modules at undergraduate level, develop and deliver postgraduate modules and supervise students at undergraduate and master’s levels. They will be required to carry out administrative duties as directed by the Head of School and are expected to be research active. This assistant professorship is a specific purpose contract.

Trinity’s Law School is the only Irish Law School to be ranked in the top 100 in both QS and THE rankings.  The school’s academic body currently comprises 34 full-time and 23 part-time/adjunct members of staff. Over the coming years the School of Law is expecting to embark on an exciting development plan, which will see a significant growth in student numbers and faculty members. The school now seeks to complement its staff and develop additional strengths in core areas identified above.

The postholder will require an excellent academic record and have completed or be very close to completion of a Ph.D. in Law. They will have proven ability or evidence of potential to contribute to teaching undergraduate and postgraduate modules in the areas of International and European Human Rights law as well as a proven ability or evidence of potential to establish a strong record of research and publications in the fields of law specified above.

Salary: Appointment will be made on the Assistant Professor / Lecturer Full Salary Scale (€41,500 - €99,550 per annum) at a point in line with current Government pay policy. monthly/weekly payscales. (tcd.ie)
