The University has campuses in Donegal (Letterkenny and Killybegs), Sligo (Sligo and St. Angelas), Mayo (Castlebar), Galway (Galway city * 2, Mountbellew & Letterfrack).

The Head of Facilities and Sustainability will prepare and maintain the university’s Facilities and Sustainability strategy, working collaboratively with the Head of Capital Development and colleagues in the Buildings and Estates team to implement the strategy.

Essential Qualifications

Minimum

• A relevant degree or professional qualification.
• A minimum of 10 years’ experience in the areas of Facilities management.
• Management experience of delivering Sustainability projects.

Desirable

• Proven track record of excellent communication (both verbal & written) and analytical skills.
• Previous experience in a lead role.
• Knowledge of the student and academic cycles and the supporting operational requirements.
• Experience of organising, operating and manging large-scale facilities.
• Experience of managing people in a highly demanding work environment
• Knowledge of business processes in key academic functional areas
• Highly motivated and capable of working on own initiative.
• Knowledge of best practice in relation to facilities management, project management, cost management and continuous improvement with demonstrable success in securing successful outcomes.
• A commitment to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion in the workplace.
• Experience in a university campus or similar environment.
