The Office of Translation and Impact is a new office being established at the Cancer Research UK Cambridge Institute, University of Cambridge. The Institute is core-funded by Cancer Research UK and has state-of-the-art research facilities for 18 research groups to undertake world-class research into all aspects of cancer biology.
A key strategic objective of the Cancer Research UK Cambridge Institute is to build a community of translational and entrepreneurial minded academics, to maximise translation of discoveries into patient benefits. The Translation & Impact Manager is responsible for building an enabling environment and infrastructure that supports translation and entrepreneurship through training, connecting, guiding and empowering its body of 350+ academics, researchers and PhD students to achieve this goal.
We now have an exciting opportunity for a Translation and Impact Manager to establish this new office and be responsible for its continued growth and success. The successful candidate will work closely with the Associate Director for Enterprise and Partnerships, academic colleagues and members of the wider operational teams and scientific core facilities.

This role would suit a professional that has a PhD in a cancer related discipline and the entrepreneurial drive and ambition to grow the translational impact of the Institute. With proven translation project management skills and excellent interpersonal and communication skills, the successful candidate will be able to lead their new team in managing multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously.
The role holder would also need to build close working relationships with the University's tech transfer office, Cambridge Enterprise and Cancer Research UK's office, Cancer Research Horizons to fully understand and interpret the technology transfer agreement that governs intellectual property rights between the University and Cancer Research UK.
