The University of Westminster is looking for a creative and enthusiastic Social Media Executive to join our Marketing team. In this role, you will play a key part in shaping our online presence, creating engaging content and driving brand awareness.

As a Social Media Executive, you will craft compelling organic and paid video content tailored for different platforms. Working closely with the Social Media Manager, you will enhance the University’s digital presence, support student recruitment efforts and contribute to the marketing strategy.

This role requires a hands-on approach, with an expectation to work reactively across different locations. You will attend on-campus events, produce content in real-world settings and film across London to capture the vibrant student experience and showcase the University’s activities. Your ability to bring stories to life through creative video content will be key to engaging our audiences effectively.

A key part of this role is supporting our Social Media Ambassador scheme, a student-led content initiative. You will support, brief and guide students in creating short-form videos that showcase their student life at Westminster, ensuring their content aligns with brand guidelines, follows trends and supports the social media strategy.

From producing eye-catching video content to monitoring social media trends, you will be instrumental in strengthening the University’s reputation online. You will also collaborate with teams across the University, ensuring our messaging is consistent, engaging and impactful.

We are looking for a creative individual with:

  • Experience planning, creating and scheduling engaging social media content across Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok and Facebook.
  • Strong content creation skills, including social-first video production, using editing apps such as CapCut and Canva.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment and the ability to produce and post social media content at live events or in a short turnaround.
  • Understanding of social media campaigns and the ability to produce content for different audiences.
  • Eagerness to work reactively and flexibly, attending events and capturing content across London.
