We are now looking for a Citizen Science Programme Developer to join us on a full-time, permanent basis, working 35 hours per week.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate citizen science professional with experience creating volunteer opportunities and a good grounding in marine species and conservation to join our forward-thinking organisation.

The Role

As our Citizen Science Programme Developer, you will develop and expand our citizen science initiatives, improving public engagement.

You will develop engaging resources, collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and ensure participation opportunities are accessible to all so that a diverse network of volunteers is supported and equipped to contribute effectively.

Working closely with Conservation and Policy teams, you will lead the design and implementation of new citizen science data collection activities, as well as creating best-practice frameworks for data collection.

About You

To be considered as a Citizen Science Programme Developer, you will need:

- Demonstrable experience of citizen science activity creation

- Experience developing and creating new volunteer opportunities

- Experience in the development and delivery of activities, including the creation and oversight of data management, processes and risk assessments

- Experience communicating scientific concepts to a wide range of audiences

- A deep understanding of citizen science theory and practice

- Knowledge of best practice strategies and methodologies for engaging volunteers in citizen science

- Good knowledge of marine species and conservation/environmental issues

- To hold (or be willing to be trained) a First Aid qualification

- A full, valid driving licence

Please note, this is a homebased role, with some travel to external meetings and events with occasional overnight stays.

This role will include in-person and online delivery to children (and adults) and is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring check as part of the recruitment process.
