The Opportunity:
The Cancer Research UK Brain Tumour Centre of Excellence (BT-CoE) presents an exciting opportunity to support and enhance our diverse research approaches to tacking brain tumours. Alongside academic staff and students across the BT-CoE, the sucessful applicant will contribute to smooth operation of projects studying new therapies and mechanisms of treatment resistance in brain tumours. Specifically, you will contribute to the development and maintenance of essential brain tumour tissue culture models, support a diverse range of projects using a suite of fundamental laboratory techniques (please see job description for details), and undertake organisation and record keeping activities in BT-CoE associated labs.
The post is located on-campus at the Institute of Genetics and Cancer (IGC) at the University of Edinburgh. The IGC plays host to over 600 scientists, students and technical staff and houses a diverse array of cutting-edge technologies. The research environment at the IGC places at its core an ethos of collaboration and mentorship, offering ample opportunity for training and personal development.
