About the Role

As Head of Student Life, you will:

  • Lead and develop our Student Life Centre, overseeing a small and professional team including the Student Life Coordinator, Disability Advisor, and Student Counselling Manager.
  • Champion student wellbeing—providing expert guidance on mental health, fitness to study, disability support, and safeguarding.
  • Enhance the student experience through strategic initiatives, driving engagement, retention, and success.
  • Be a trusted advisor, offering direct 1:1 support to students facing complex challenges, including crisis intervention.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership, academic teams, and external bodies to continuously improve student support services.

What We’re Looking For

We need a dynamic, strategic leader with:

  • Substantial experience in student services within higher education.
  • Strong knowledge of mental health, safeguarding, and pastoral support.
  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills to inspire and motivate teams.
  • A proven track record in service development, operational planning, and data-driven decision-making.
  • A deep understanding of diversity, equality, and inclusion to create an accessible and supportive learning environment.

The College offers a salary range of £38,071 - £45,029, 35 days’ holiday per annum plus Bank Holidays.
