Professor Sir Munir Pirmohamed has recently been awarded Innovate UK funding for the Centre for Excellence in Regulatory Science and Innovation in Pharmacogenomics (CERSI-PGx). The CERSI-PGx will work with regulators and the NHS to develop sensible and practical guidelines for using Pharmacogenomics in practice.
We are now seeking a part time (0.5fte) postdoctoral teaching fellow or an experienced pharmacist to work with us in the delivery of Work Package 3: Education and Training.
In this role you will primarily work on the creation of a training platform around pharmacogenomics regulation aiming to upskill stakeholders in pharmacogenomics and regulatory pathways. A significant aim of work package 3 is to "personalise" our training by building an interactive environment facilitating discussion, making connections among stakeholders and supporting training secondments.
You will hold a PhD in pharmacology or other relevant discipline. (Candidates working towards completion of their PhD will be considered and if successful will be appointed at the top of Grade 6, moving to the start of Grade 7 when the PhD has been awarded) OR you will have significant experience as a pharmacist and high-level knowledge of pharmacogenomics/regulatory pathways and/or significant industry experience.
This post is offered on a fixed term basis until January 2026.
