The University of Southampton is a world-leading, research-intensive institution with a strong reputation for innovation and enterprise. We are committed to making a positive impact through socially responsible initiatives and actively addressing complex societal and environmental challenges.
The Social Enterprise Team supports students and recent graduates in exploring social enterprise as a route to creating meaningful change. Through the Social Impact Lab (SiL) and various initiatives, we equip individuals with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to develop sustainable solutions aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
This is an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic and growing Careers, Employability, and Student Enterprise (CESE) Division as a Social Enterprise Coordinator. Reporting to the Social Enterprise Manager, you will play a key role in delivering the University's social enterprise programme, engaging with students, external partners, and key stakeholders to facilitate impactful projects and initiatives.
About You
We are looking for an efficient and motivated individual who thrives in a fast-paced, supportive environment.
As Social Enterprise Coordinator, you will provide comprehensive coordination and administrative support for social enterprise activities and events, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations of the Social Impact Lab. You will also serve as a key point of contact for students and stakeholders, offering advice, signposting relevant resources, and supporting the development of social enterprise projects.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills are essential. You will be confident in delivering presentations, managing multiple priorities, and building strong relationships across the University and with external partners. Experience in marketing, stakeholder engagement, event coordination, and customer service is highly desirable, as is a passion for social impact, entrepreneurship, and sustainability.
Candidates should also be prepared to work occasional evenings and weekends to support events and activities.
What We Can Offer You
We provide a supportive environment that values flexibility and encourages work-life balance through hybrid working options. Benefits include a generous holiday allowance, additional university closure days, access to the university's pension scheme, subsidised health and fitness facilities, and a range of discounts.
At the University of Southampton, we believe that diversity and inclusion are central to our success. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and encourage those who value our diverse community to apply.
