The Role
An exciting opportunity to join one of the largest aerospace engineering departments in the country has become available as a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Aerospace Engineering. You will be part of a dynamic and agile team that champions problem-based learning and interdisciplinary collaboration, with access to unique teaching and research facilities in the UK, including Kingston’s Rocket Propulsion Test Laboratory and Industry Standard Flight Simulators.
In this role, you will deliver and assess undergraduate and postgraduate modules in Computer-Aided Design, Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and wider aerospace topics. The potential candidates are also expected to have willingness to develop their teaching competencies in space technology area.
The Person
We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated individual with a passion for teaching and a strong background in Aerospace Engineering as well as an interest in Space Technology. Specifically, the vacant post seeks application from candidates with experience in FEA methods and use in aerospace design. Moreover, the prospective candidate is expected to be able to teach wider aerospace engineering topics. You should hold a degree in Aerospace Engineering or a closely related discipline, along with a PhD (or have submitted your thesis and are awaiting examination) in a relevant subject area. Equivalent relevant experience in the field may also be considered.
The ideal candidate will bring practical, hands-on experience with student-centred teaching approaches in Aerospace and the ability to teach using simulation software and hardware tools. The candidate will also have an interest in space technology and related areas. Experience with software packages such as ANSYS, SolidWorks, and MATLAB is highly desirable.

This is a full time, permanent academic position with a starting salary of £44,154 per annum for a Lecturer or £49,218 per annum for a Senior Lecturer depending on the skills and experience of the successful applicant.
