LSE is committed to building a diverse, equitable and truly inclusive university
Salary from £42,429 to £50,656 pa inclusive with potential to progress to £54,295 pa inclusive of London allowance.
This is a fixed term appointment for two years.
Building upon on their complementary missions and outstanding expertise, LSE and Fudan University founded the LSE-Fudan Research Centre for Global Public Policy in 2019. The Centre is jointly operated by the Institute for Global Public Policy at Fudan in Shanghai and the Department of Social Policy at LSE in London.
The Department of Social Policy is currently seeking two Research Fellows to join the LSE-Fudan Global Public Policy Hub in London for a two-year term. Candidates for this post should have research interests that fit within international social and public policy, broadly defined. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to: development, poverty & inequality, public health, education, migration, work, environment & climate change. Research that incorporates global or comparative perspectives is essential, and a focus on China and/or China and the World is desired. The Department of Social policy is multi-disciplinary with scholars from Anthropology, Criminology, Demography, Development Studies, Economics, History, International Relations, Law, Political Science, Psychology, Social Policy, and Sociology. As a mixed methods department, we value diversity of research methodology and epistemology.
As well as undertaking their own high-quality research and scholarship in their particular discipline and fields, the post-holder will foster and promote research collaborations between scholars at LSE and Fudan.
Candidates should have completed, or demonstrably close to completing (by the post start date), a PhD in a relevant social science field, with research expertise in topics that fit within international social and public policy, broadly defined. They need to have a very good knowledge of the application of social science to policy-making and a developing research record in empirical social science related to public policy that incorporates global or comparative perspectives.
We offer an occupational pension scheme, generous annual leave and excellent training and development opportunities.
