We are a world class research-intensive university. We deliver teaching and learning of the highest quality. We play a leading role in economic, social and cultural development of the North East of England. Attracting and retaining high-calibre people is fundamental to our continued success.

The Role
Your role will involve working with a team based at Newcastle University who collaborate with Newcastle Upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and other collaborative patient and public involvement partners. We are looking to appoint a research assistant to contribute to a NIHR Health Technology Appraisal (HTA)-funded grant.

The project is a Study Within A Trial (SWAT), with a focus on exploring the use of video animation as a supportive tool in clinical trial recruitment processes, specifically for people living with bronchiectasis. The role will involve mixed-methods of qualitative and quantitative research; firstly, to explore trial participant perspectives and experiences through use of semi-structured interviews and analysis methods; and secondly, to perform summary/descriptive statistical analysis upon trial recruitment data to measure the impact and effect of the animation-supported recruitment. You will also contribute to writing-up and disseminating the findings in collaboration with the research team.

This post is fixed-term for a period of 12 months.
