The School of Arts and Humanities is excited to invite applications for a School Administrator (Governance and Committees) for a fixed term period of 6 months. This position is full time, but we welcome applications from individuals who wish to be considered for part-time working or other flexible working arrangements.
This key role within the School's professional services team provides crucial support to the School's leadership, including the Head of School, Deputy Head, and Secretary, as they guide the strategic direction of the School. Working in the School Office you will be able to contribute to the full range of activities across the School including teaching and research.
As a School Administrator, you will play an integral part in supporting several important School committees and governance projects. Your responsibilities will include preparing papers, agendas, and minutes, as well as providing high-quality administrative support. You will serve as Secretary or Assistant Secretary for the Council of the School, the Resources and Planning Group, the Postgraduate Education Committee, the School Degree Committee, and the Interdisciplinary Education Committee. Additionally, you will help coordinate other groups and activities within the School.
The ideal candidate will have strong administrative experience, preferably ideally in supporting committees and other governance. Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently are essential for success in this role.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a collaborative and friendly team, gain valuable experience in University Governance, and contribute to the effective running of the School. The role offers a mix of working from the School Office in Mill Lane, central Cambridge, and remote work.
Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 6 months in the first instance.
