About the Role
Leeds Sixth Form College is recruiting for a Teacher - GCSE English.
Leeds Sixth Form College is a combined provision of A Levels, GCSE's and vocational courses which provides a diverse range of full-time education programmes for learners aged 16-18 and adult learners aged 19+. The provision ranges from Level 2 to Level 3 and includes both traditional academic and vocational pathways. The English and maths provision within this also services the Sport department.
For 16-18 year olds the curriculum includes over 20 A Level subjects as well as a range of BTEC courses with different weightings, to ensure we develop learners in a wide variety of subject areas to meet local employer and skill needs. We complement this with a GCSE-focused provision to further widen opportunities for local learners.
The advertised role is to work within our English and Maths provision in which we have 16-18 and 19+ learners studying resit GCSE’s alongside their vocational course (which could be Applied science, Step Up to A Levels and/or Sport). It would suit someone who is looking for an alternative to working in a secondary school environment and/or someone that has interest in working in a sixth form setting with the range of courses on offer.
